Quercus Furniture specialises in producing traditional handmade refectory tables and contemporary bespoke handmade tables to our clients own design, specification, taste and requirements.
You may know the style of table you need, but just can’t find the right size, colour, finish or style. This is where we can help and make you a completely bespoke handmade table to your exact specification and taste.
We have strong emphasis on environmental values. The wood whether it be Oak (Quercus robur), Elm (Ulmus minor) or Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) is sourced from sustainable forestry programmes or reclaimed timber from around Europe.
Our classic bespoke handmade refectory tables have a lived-in quality which enhances the natural beauty and grain of the wood. It is the intention of Quercus Furniture to create bespoke tables which is both functional and visually stunning. Each bespoke table is unique and may be considered a work of art in its own right.
Each bespoke table is handmade using only traditional English craftsmanship and tools.

Traditional table making methods
Great importance is placed on the use of traditional hand tools that have been in use by artisans since medieval times including the adze, inshave and spokeshave.
Provenance
Every Quercus Handmade Table comes fitted with a maker’s pewter plaque which records the date, number, original owner and the maker of the piece. This provides a unique record of authenticity which is logged in our register and marks the piece as genuine, made by Quercus Furniture.

We can tailor chairs to compliment the commissioned table. We have many designs to choose from

DESIGN BRIEF
We take a full brief on all your requirements; wood, finishes, style, and size. Discuss ideas and possibilities.
TABLE SPECIFICATION
Once we know your table requirements we will put a full specification together before we start work on your table.
SOURCING TIMBER
We will source your timber from reclaimed wood from respected salvage yards or careful sourced new timber from sustainably managed forests.
BUILD
At every stage of the build process you are welcome to visit our workshop to see the progress of your table. We will also send regular updates and photos.
