Project brief – table to be as close to the classic refectory table style of old without being distressed or aged in any contrived way. The piece to speak as it would when first constructed and to age naturally through the generations and use through the passing of time.
At 550cm x 150cm the refectory table seats 20. 8 down each side and 2 at each end. Made from solid medium character English Oak. 5 boards across all from the same tree so matching in grain pattern and style.
Table base with 4 outer hand carved legs plus a central support leg joined together by a central foot rail, again all in solid oak. Finish in a clear hard-wax oil and natural beeswax.
Wood & Character: 5 Board Medium Character Oak.
Dimensions: L 550cm, W 120cm & 40mm thick.
Tabletop Finish: Clear hard-wax oil and natural beeswax.
Leg Design: Stop-chamfered.
