Specifications
The tabletop needed to be 3 boards wide at 100cm wide with a central ‘show’ board at 50cm wide. West & Sons of Petworth came up trumps and the table now frequents a London Mews House.
The refectory table was constructed using traditional mortise and tenon joints held in place by Oak dowels. The tabletop has end cleats, the boards are biscuit jointed and glued, the top is detachable and held in position by wooden buttons which allow for timber movement through the seasons.
The refectory tables clean lines and lime finish really suits the space and modern look. The table has all the hallmarks of a traditional rectory table with wide legs connected with a h-frame base, except with a modern contemporary twist.
We also made a small live edge coffee table to the house too.
Wood & Character: Prime French Oak with a contemporary limed finish.
Dimensions: L 240cm, W 100cm, & 40mm thick.
Tabletop Finish: Lime Wax.
Leg Design: Square legs with pegged mortise and tenon joints, centre stretcher and rail bracket.
