The commission here was to fit a handmade refectory style kitchen table into a new extension of a period country house. Country style refectory table with ‘gun barrel’ style turned legs. Seats 8 to 10 people
In consultation with the client it was decided to go with a slightly distressed style and turned legs in keeping with the rest of the period house furniture. The result achieved a ‘bridge’ from the established period style of the house into the new space.
Dark Oak oil stain over which 2 coats of a hard wax oil were applied and finished with a natural beeswax
The table was distressed and inshaved to give an aged look to the table, center rail is stop-chamfered and the side rails ‘scalloped’ to give more leg room.
