On a visit to one of my quality timber suppliers English Woodlands Timber looking for some lovely Walnut a customer had requested for a bespoke table, I stumbled across these two spectacular oak boards measuring 4m long.
I couldn’t resist, so purchased them as well. Being very busy with commissions I couldn’t find the time to turn them into something beautiful. However, a prospective client paid a visit to my workshop and also fell in love with them.
So we discussed a design for the 2 bookmatched boards. The client had a clear vision of the style and look they were after with the organic live edge table with an industrial style base.
Final dimensions are 3.8m x 1.1m finished in a hard-wax oil and natural khaki bees wax.
It’s always very satisfying bringing to (and exceeding) fruition the customers personal vision. I think the end result looks wonderful. I hope you agree.
Wood & Character: Bookmatched Character Oak.
Dimensions: L 380cm, W 110cm & 50mm thick.
Tabletop Finish: Natural hard wax oil and natural khaki bees.
