This commission was for a classic farmhouse style refectory table with a 3 board French Oak top along with 8 Windsor chairs to match. The client brief was to keep handmade refectory table as natural as possible, letting the timber age and darken with time.
The 8 Windsor style handmade chairs are made from English Ash with Elm seat. The chairs have the same finish as the handmade refectory table.
The refectory table top was inshaved for a worn ripple effect with no v-jointing between the boards and finished with end cleats. The Stop-chamfered style legs are linked precisely together by a raised ‘H’ frame. These are all typical features of a handmade refectory table.
Wood & Character: 3 Board French Oak aged with inshave.
Dimensions: L 240cm, W 100cm & 40mm thick.
Tabletop Finish: Natural hard wax oil.
Leg Design: Stop-chamfered legs.
